M86 Security Labs released their Threat Predictions for 2011 report recently. It makes for a short and interesting read.
Their No.1 threat is quite scary. They predict that cybercriminals will be releasing malware that uses stolen digital certificates. A lot of security products today, check a softwares digital certificate before allowing it to run. If the malware is using a stolen digital certificate that is trusted, it simply bypasses the security system you have in place. They report that a variant of the Zeus Trojan was discovered to be digitally signed using a certificate from antivirus vendor Kaspersky!
